Guru is Brahma who often plants qualities of goodness. Guru is Vishnu who nurtures and foster goodness. Guru is Maheswara one who weeds out bad qualities. Guru is supreme Brahma himself prostrate onto that Guru.
'Gu' means darkness. 'ru' means who gives light. Guru is a person who takes you from darkness to light. The word 'teacher' is derived from the word 'taecan' which means to show, point out or give instructions. He is considered to be the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and fine qualities of life. Guru is (i) a friend (ii) a philosopher (iii) guide (iv) social engineer (v) nation builder.
