ORDER

The respondent in Crl.M.P.No.2811 of 2008 on the file of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-III, Punalur is the revision petitioner. That application has been filed by the first respondent herein, his wife, under section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (for short `the Act') seeking reliefs under sections 18, 19, 20 and 22 of the Act.

2. The following were the averments and allegations raised in that application:-

For the sake of convenience the parties viz., the husband and wife are referred to hereinafter in this order in accordance with their status in the Crl.M.P. unless otherwise specifically mentioned. The marriage between the petitioner and the respondent was solemnized on 16.9.1993. Two children are born in the wedlock. At the time of marriage the petitioner was given an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- and 40 sovereigns of gold by her parents and brother. Utilising the said patrimony the respondent started a medical shop at Punalur. In fact, according to her, 10 sovereigns of gold belonging to the children and 40 sovereigns of gold belonging to her were sold for raising funds for that purpose.
