ASSISTANT TRANSPORT OFFICER – Respondent


The petitioner is a widow of a driver, who had retired from

service on 28.02.2002 and later expired on 23.06.2018. The

petitioner has not received the family pension so far, contends the

learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the

respondent Corporation.

3. The learned Standing Counsel submits that as per Ext.P1, the

family pension seems to be sanctioned to the petitioner with effect

from 01.07.2018 itself. If the petitioner furnishes a non remarriage

certificate, payment of family pension can be expedited, states the

learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, the writ petition is

disposed of with a direction to the 1st respondent Corporation to

disburse the family pension with arrears to the petitioner within six

weeks from the date of production of non remarriage certificate by the

petitioner.

The writ petition will stand disposed of.
