These Writ Appeals are filed by the superseded Managing Committee members of District Co-operative Banks against the interim order of the learned Single Judge declining to restore the Managing Committees that have ceased to exist through the operation of the Kerala Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2012. Admittedly, by virtue of the operation of the above Ordinance, the Managing Committees have ceased to exist and in their place Joint Registrars of Co- operative Societies have taken over as administrators of the Co- operative Banks, which happened on 13.2.2012. We have heard the various counsel appearing for the appellants in these Appeals W.A.Nos.354/12 & connected cases 2 and also Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
2. The reason for supersession as stated in Court is that the superseded Committees were elected without giving voting rights to large number of Societies but by limiting voting rights only to Credit Co-operative Societies and Urban Co-operative Banks. The prayer in these Writ Appeals is to vacate the interim order of the learned Single Judge and to restore the Managing Committees, which have ceased to exist a
