JUDGMENT

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition praying that the concerned Authorities of the Public Works Department be directed not to remove the advertisement boards and signages installed by him on the strength of Ext P1 agreement. He says that the agreement is for a period of 10 years and that it is to expire only in the year 2020.

2. I notice that this Writ Petition was admitted on

12.4.2013, when an interim order, restraining the respondents from removing the boards, was granted by this court and I am told that this order continues to be in effect. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the petitioner add that certain similar issues were considered by another Judge of this court in WP(C) No.16969 of 2013 and connected matters and that certain directions have been given therein as general guidelines, which read as under:

“The petitioners have a case that the 1st respondent cannot cancel the contracts, the petitioners had with the local authorities.

Perusal of impugned communications would show that the 1st respondent had directed the petitioners to remove the advertisement boards. In fact, the petitioners have valid contract with the local authority and as long as the
