JUDGMENT

Antony Dominic, J.

The petitioners are brothers and the first respondent is their nephew. The writ petition has been filed seeking orders of Police protection. The averments in the petition show that on complaints made by the petitioners, criminal cases have been registered against the first respondent. It is stated that despite such criminal cases, petitioners are still being threatened by the first respondent. Alleging that their lives are in risk, this petition is filed.

2. Despite service of notice, there is no appearance on behalf of the first respondent.

3. The learned Government Pleader, who has instructions in the matter, states that there are civil disputes between the parties concerning the ownership of few trees that stand on the boundary of the W.P.(C)No.10687/2017 2 properties of the petitioners and the first respondent. He also states that apart from the cases registered at the instance of the petitioners, acting upon the complaints made by the first respondent also, criminal cases have been registered against the petitioners.

4. Essentially, therefore, the dispute has its genesis in the civil disputes between the parties. According to us, such disputes are to be
