J U D G M E N T
The petitioner has passed the Senior School Certificate Examination and Secondary School Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi (CBSE). After the petitioner had passed the said Examinations, he had changed his name from Arundev to Afzal Jafar and the change of name has been notified in the official gazette of the State Government. It is stated that the mother of the petitioner also changed her name from Seetha Jafar to Safa Jafar. She also notified the change of her name in the official gazette. Thereupon, the petitioner preferred an application for correction of his name and also his mother's name in the certificates issued by the CBSE. The request made by the petitioner in this connection has not been considered by the CBSE. The petitioner, therefore, seeks directions to the CBSE to correct his name as also his mother's name in the certificates issued by them in tune with the gazette notifications.
