JUDGMENT
Petitioner is a charitable society conducting a Self-
Financing Engineering College. Petitioner is also conducting a Polytechnic college under the aided sector. During 2016-17, affiliation from the 1st respondent University could not be obtained for B.Tech (Electronics and Communication) for the reason of shortage of faculty. According to the petitioner, later, new teachers were recruited and required infrastructure was provided, and thereupon, affiliation has been obtained for
2017-18.
2. Apparently, petitioner has submitted an application before the 1st respondent University, seeking to admit students to II Year B.Tech (Electronics and Communication) through lateral entry, which was declined as per Ext.P4 order dated 01.04.2017, stating that the request to grant permission to admit students to 2nd Year B.Tech (Electronics & Communication) by lateral entry cannot be considered, as affiliation has not been granted during the year 2016-17.
Petitioner has submitted Ext.P5 thereupon to review the decision on the basis of various notifications and other norms prescribed by the AICTE, which is pending consideration. These are the background facts projected by the petitioner in this
