Assailing the order dated 24.09.2015 passed by the Registrar, Ravenshaw Univer
sity, Cuttack, opposite party no.1, the instant petition has been filed. By the said order, th
e petitioner is directed to deposit Rs.5000/- as fine at the University Counter within seven d
ays along with an undertaking that he shall not involve in any disturbance in the University i
n future.
Heard Mr. Biswal, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. Bharadwaj, learn
ed counsel for the opposite parties.
As would be evident from the letter dated 24.09.2015 issued by the Registrar,
Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, opposite party no.1, on the recommendation of the Sub-Committee
of Executive Council to review the punishment imposed on the petitioner who has been found in
volved in disruption of classes and locking of ITM Department during 6 and 7 August, 2015, the
Executive Council has reduced the punishment to a fine of Rs.5,000/- instead of the punishmen
t of detention of one year as imposed earlier vide office letter no.3703 dated 24.08.2015.
