learned Addl. Standing Counsel.

Prayer is made in this case to quash the F.I.R. and

consequential proceeding in Sahadev Khunta P.S. Case

No.110 of 2016, corresponding to C.T. Case No.1077 of

2016 pending in the court of learned S.D.J.M., Balasore

U/s.309 I.P.C.

The essential facts necessary for this case are that

petitioner Jhansi Rani Bhuyan had lodged an F.I.R. on

26.3.2016 to the effect that while she was working as

Forest Guard at Balasore Forest Division at Kuladiha

Range, one Forester Rama Chandra Behera had induced

her for sexful favour and in fact committed rape on

several occasions after unleashing threat to her life. The

said informant was registered as Nilagiri P.S. Case No.38

of 2016 U/s.417, 420, 376(2)(b)(k)(n), 307 and 506 of the

Indian Penal Code. She made representation before the

Odisha Human Rights Commission and vide order

dtd.11.4.2016, the Superintendent of Police, Balasore was

directed to cause enquiry. When the accused was not
