patients suffering from COVID-19. However, efforts are being

made to further improve and streamline the system.

5. That none of the Government Hospitals, PHC, CHC situated

in District Fatehgrah Sahib have ICU facility. So ventilators

cannot be installed in these Hospitals and Health Centres. The

three specialist doctors (Anesthesia) in District Fatehgarh

Sahib have already been attached to Rajindra Medical College

and Hospital at Patiala where (Level 3 Facility) is available for

patients for better utilization of resources for public at large.

6. That in District Fatehgarh Sahib there is one private

hospital which is near the District Hospital Fatehgarh Sahib

named, “INDUS Hospital” situated at Peerjain, Chandigarh

Road, Sirhind where ICU facility with technical staff is

available and in this hospital there are already two ventilators

available for the patients. It is further respectfully submitted

that Government of Punjab Department of Health and Family

Welfare has allocated three new ventilators to District

Fatehgarh Sahib which are being installed at “INDUS

Hospital” situated at Peerjain, Chandigarh Road, Sirhind

District Fatehgarh Sahib, because they have trained staff to

operate these ventilators and also have ICU facility. It is

further submitted that as per understanding between the

In view of the above, we feel that the arrangements made by the

authority is satisfactory and it requires no interference by this court at this

stage. Disposed of.

We, however, make it clear that in case the condition of patient is

serious and he requires to be put on ventilator immediately,

the concerned doctor shall ensure that the patient is admitted to the INDUS
