The petitioner is seeking admission to 5th Semester of the

University Institute of Legal Studies i.e. Five Lears Law Course. It is stated

that the petitioner has cleared fifty percent of the papers of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and

4th semesters in terms of Regulation 6 (ii) of the Rules Regulating

Admission and Promotions to B.A.., LL. B (Hons.) Five Years Integrated

Course which provides that if a candidate clears 50 percent of the previous

semester, he is entitled to admission to the next semesters.

To the contrary, learned counsel appearing for the University

has argued that the petitioner was required to clear 50 percent papers of 1st

and 2nd semesters and 50 percent of 3rd and 4th semesters to become eligible

for admissi
