The petitioner has invoked the writ jurisdiction of this Court

allegedly in public interest for the finalization of the process of

amalgamation of Farmer Service Society with the Village Service

Cooperative Society.

The petitioner in the writ petition himself states that he is a

Member of Farmer Service Society and had taken loan of

Rs.18,000/- from the said Society. It, therefore, appears that the

petitioner has preferred this petition in his individual capacity

rather than in public interest. A private cause of such a nature

involving the petitioner cannot be permitted to be raised through

Public Interest Litigation.

In view of the above, we do not feel inclined to exercise our

discretionary jurisdiction in the matter. However, as there is no

dispute that the process of amalgamation of the Society had

started way back on 16.09.2018 and under Section 13 of the

Rajasthan Cooperative Societies Act, 2001, the process has to be

completed as far as possible within a period of three months, we

expect that the respondents would ensure that the amalgamation

process is completed most expeditiously.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of.
