This petition has been filed against the order dated

13^th Jaunary, 2011 passed by the Insurance Ombudsman,

Delhi & Rajasthan under Rule 16 of the Redressal of

Public Grievances Rules, 1998.

Facts of the case are that a complaint was filed by

one Preeti Sanadhya against M/s IDBI Fortis Life

Insurance Company Limited for cancellation of insurance

policy issued in the complainant's name. The case of the

complainant was that she had handed over a sum of Rs.

50000/- to one Mr. Neeraj Sandhya , purporting to be an

agent of IDBI fortis Life Insurance Company Limited for

being invested as a fixed deposit with the insurance

Company. It was stated by the complainant that when

she received a letter from the IDBI Fortis Life Insurance

Company Limited with a policy document, instead of fixed

deposit receipt, she found that the document sent to her

related to insurance police under the Wealth Assurance

Foundation Plan, which was unit linke
