An Executive Officer in a Municipality, which

is now known as Nagar Palika Parishad, is appointed by

the State Government, as the post of Executive Officer is a

centralized post. These appointments are made under

Section 69(B) of the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act.

However, since the post of Executive Officers may arise,

meanwhile

for

temporary

filling

of

such

vacancies

provisions are given under Section 57 and 59 of the Uttar

Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1916 which read as under:-
