This special appeal is preferred against the

judgment rendered by the learned Single Judge, in Writ

Petition (S/S) No. 590 of 2014 dated 24.11.2015.

Key facts, necessary for adjudication of this

appeal are that the husband of the respondent was an

employee in the Forest Department. He died in harness on

16.06.2013. The respondent applied for compassionate

appointment under the U.P. Recruitment of Dependants of

Government Servants Dying in Harness Rules, 1974

(hereinafter referred to as “Dying in Harness Rules” for the

sake of brevity)
