The present petition has been filed in public interest seeking a direction to

the respondents to issue caste certificates in favour of the persons, who

according to the petitioners belong to 'Kori' caste.

After hearing learned counsel for the petitioners, we do not find that a writ

petition can be filed in public interest for issuance of caste certificate in

favour of any person or class of persons. In case, an individual has a

grievance regarding issuance or non issuance of caste certificate by the

competent authority, he can raise his grievance and get the same redressed.

The present petition filed for the purpose in public interest cannot be

entertained.

The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
