This complaint has been filed by Subhash Mehta against the opposite party HDFC Bank.

2. Brief facts of the complaint are that the Complainant being NRI, deposited Rs.99,99,024/- with special instructions by demand draft accompanied by other formalities, in Centurion Bank Ltd. now merged with opposite party HDFC Bank. Fixed deposit receipt issued by bank was submitted by complainant for payment but the opposite party raised an issue that receipt was only for Rs.30 lakh & same has been forged by complainant for a higher amount. It was alleged by the complainant that a criminal case was filed by the opposite party bank and the issue has been resolved in criminal complaint where complainant has been acquitted. OP claimed that complainant through letter dated 26.06.2002 had instructed them to transfer a sum of Rs.69,99,024/- to another party. Complainant issued notice several times for releasing the due amount of Rs.32,79,250/- but no response was made. Complainant moved an application dated 20.09.2018 before ombudsman of RBI but the same was refused to be entertained.
