By the order of this Court dated 4 January 2022, the petitioner was granted

an extension of time to return from the US until 30 April 2022. The presence

of the petitioner in the US was occasioned by the application which has been

filed by him for the renewal of his Green Card.

In view of the previous extensions, the Court had observed that no further

extension would be granted. However, it has been submitted on behalf of the

petitioner by Mr Vinay Navare, senior counsel that the petitioner is bona fide

pursuing the application for the renewal of his Green Card and it is

anticipated that the process would be completed within 22 weeks. Senior

counsel states that since the next date before the trial court is 30 November

2022, the petitioner would appear before the trial court on 30 November

2022 and undertakes to comply with the process of law.

Mr Sachin Patil, Standing Counsel for the State of Maharashtra states that

having regard to the submissions which have been made in the

miscellaneous application, he would leave it to the Court to take an

appropriate decision.

Considering the reasons which weighed previously with this Court in granting

an extension of time and the reasons indicated for the extension of time in

the Miscellaneous Application, an extension of six months is granted to the

petitioner to return to India.

The Miscellaneous Application is accordingly disposed of.
