[1] This is yet another case of death in police custody. One Isparan Subramaniam was arrested for being a suspected drug user and was detained in the police lock-up in Sungai Siput Police Station on 27 May 2012 at about 4pm. The next day he was taken to the Magistrate Court for an extension of his detention for 3 days for investigation for an offence under s 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 195
