The claimant joined the company as an Account & Administration Assistant sometime in November 1996 at a starting salary of RM1,900 per month. By letter dated 20 October 2000, the company terminated the claimant's services. The dispute is therefore over the summary dismissal of the claimant by the company.
The claimant claims that on 8 August 2000, the company informed her that no salary increment for her for the review year. The company also issued a new job description to the claimant incorporating extra and new tasks. On 22 August 2000, the company issued a Performance Appraisal to the claimant, stating that the claimant has failed to meet the requirements in the claimant's new job. The claimant avers that on 29 September 2000 the company e-mailed a show cause letter to the claimant. The claimant says she replied to the company's letter denying all the allegations on 29 September 2000 through e-mail.
It is her claim that despite the claimant's explanation on 29 September 2000, her services was terminated by the company by letter dated 20 October 2000.
