The claimant first joined the service of the company as a junior clerk on 13 February 1968.He left the company for better prospects in another position elsewhere on 6 December 1972 only to rejoin it on 23 October 1973, this time as a sales assistant.
Vide letter dated 20 September 1978 (Exhibit CLB3), the claimant was promoted to the position of purchasing officer w.e.f. 1 October 1978, an executive position which he held until 11 February 1991 on which date he alleged he was forced to resign and/or was constructively dismissed.
Initially the claimant reported to the planning manager.Upon the abolishment of the position of planning manager in 1987 he was placed under the finance department in which he reported directly to the finance manager.In December 1988, Mr. Yip Wan Kai (COW1) assumed the position of financial controller of the company and the responsibility over the finance department.He was also the company secretary of the company and a director of Australian Consolidated Industry, the parent company of the company.
