INDUSTRIAL COURT, KUALA LUMPUR
CONTIPAK NORON SDN BHD – Appellant
Versus
KESATUAN PEKERJA-PEKERJA PERUSAHAAN PERCETAKAN SEMENANJUNG MALAYSIA – Respondent

AWARD

The Honourable Minister of Human Resources referred to the court under s. 26(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 1967 a trade dispute between Kesatuan Pekerja-pekerja Perusahaan Percetakan Semenanjung Malaysia ("the union") and Contipak Noron Sdn Bhd ("the company"). The dispute arose as a result of the failure of the parties to conclude their second collective agreement for the period 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2003.

The matter was originally fixed for hearing on 5 February 2002. However the parties were not ready and requested postponement. The matter was postponed many more times at the request of the parties who wished to negotiate further on the dispute.

On the final hearing on 18 February 2003 the parties informed the court they had at last concluded the agreement which they tendered to court. The agreement is annexed hereto. They further requested for a consent award upon the terms and conditions contained in the annexure.

The court hereby hands down a consent award that the collective agreement between the parties for the period 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2003 shall be as per the annexure to this award.
