Nirma University to Host ILNU MUN Chapter VI from October 30 with ₹2.5 Lakh Prize
The Institute of Law, Nirma University (ILNU) is set to host the sixth edition of its Model United Nations Conference — ILNU MUN Chapter VI — from October 30 to November 1, 2026 , in Ahmedabad. Organised by the ILNU MUN Committee, the three-day event promises a platform for youth leadership and diplomatic discourse under the theme “We Create the Future.”
ILNU’s Flagship Platform for Debate and Diplomacy
Founded in 2007, ILNU is accredited with an 'A+' grade by NAAC and is known for blending academic rigor with justice education. ILNU MUN, run collaboratively by students and faculty, has become a flagship platform for young leaders to engage with complex global issues. Over previous editions, it has drawn hundreds of participants and forged collaborations with United Nations entities.
Chapter VI continues this legacy, offering delegates an immersive experience in parliamentary procedure, negotiation, and consensus-building. As the conference brochure notes, “ILNU MUN provides an immersive arena where students engage with complex international issues, master parliamentary procedures, and draft constructive solutions to real-world crises.”
Diverse Committees and Pressing Agendas
The conference will feature seven committees, each tackling a distinct agenda:
- United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): Political interference in humanitarian governance, with a focus on the Yemen crisis.
- Bureaucratic Cell: Formulating a national refugee and asylum framework for India.
- Lok Sabha: Comprehensive electoral reforms, including the “One Nation, One Election” proposal.
- Indian Constituent Assembly (ICA): Determining federal structure and official language while reconciling national unity with provincial autonomy.
- UNGA – Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC): Regulation of private military and security companies in armed conflict.
- Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW): Weaponization of conflict-related sexual violence by non-state armed groups.
- BRICS: Deliberating the New Delhi Declaration 2026 on de-dollarization and local-currency payments.
Additionally, an International Press (IP) committee will cover proceedings throughout the conference.
Generous Prize Pool and Registration Details
Participants can compete for substantial awards. Per committee, the Best Delegate receives ₹15,000 , High Commendation earns ₹10,000 , and Special Mention comes with ₹5,000 . The Bureaucratic Cell has separate prizes: Best Delegate at ₹10,000, High Commendation at ₹7,000, and Special Mention at ₹3,000. A trophy and perks await the Best Institutional Delegation , and the total prize money exceeds ₹2.5 lakh . All delegates receive participation certificates.
Registration fees are structured in phases: - Early Bird (Sept 22–30): ₹1,600 - Phase 1 (Oct 1–15): ₹1,800 - Phase 2 (Oct 16–25): ₹2,200
Accommodation is available for an additional ₹2,700. Delegates must cover their own travel costs.
