In the aftermath of a devastating stampede at a religious event in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, that claimed the lives of 121 people, the lawyer of the organizer, self-proclaimed godman Bhole Baba , has come forward to address the tragedy.

Lawyer AP Singh , representing Bhole Baba , whose real name is Narayan Sakar Hari , has alleged that the stampede was the result of a "conspiracy" orchestrated by "anti-social elements" after the preacher had already left the venue.

Baba's Statement and Lawyer's Response

In a statement issued through his lawyer, Bhole Baba expressed his "deepest condolences" to the families of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He also authorized AP Singh , a senior advocate at the Supreme Court, to take further legal action regarding the incident.

"The incident that took place yesterday is unfortunate. Some anti-social elements orchestrated the stampede as part of a conspiracy after Narayan Sakar Hari left the 'satsang'," AP Singh told reporters. He refuted claims that the stampede occurred when devotees rushed to touch the preacher's feet, stating that there was no such tradition.

Judicial Probe Ordered

The lawyer's statement comes as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a judicial probe into the matter. Adityanath also pointed out that the stampede could have been the result of a conspiracy and directed the authorities to identify and take strict action against those responsible.

Protocols Violation and Missing Baba

Details have emerged that several protocols were flouted at the gathering in Hathras. Meanwhile, Bhole Baba himself remains missing, with his lawyer assuring that the preacher is not trying to escape and has no presence on social media platforms or a mobile phone.

AP Singh emphasized that Narayan Sakar Hari has "led a pure life" and that all allegations against him are false. He also claimed that the event was conducted legally, with proper permissions and site plans, but that anti-social elements infiltrated the gathering, leading to the tragic outcome.

In his statement, Bhole Baba 's lawyer expressed gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh Police and government, and assured that the "sevadars" (volunteers) are working to ensure that none of the bodies are unclaimed and that all victims receive proper treatment.
