The Bombay High Court has rejected a plea from four law students challenging the Maharashtra government's decision to declare a public holiday on January 22 for the Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony. The students had argued that the holiday violated the principle of secularism enshrined in the Indian Constitution. However, the court dismissed their petition, saying that the government's decision was a matter of policy and did not violate any fundamental rights.
