Bombay High Court Orders Widening of Malad Road, Approves Demolition of Structure on Church Land

Supreme Today News Desk

The Bombay High Court has given the green light for the widening of Malad Road in Mumbai. A 150-year-old structure on Malvani church land will be demolished after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) pays compensation. The court ruled that the BMC retains its powers over public Development Plan (DP) Roads, despite the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) being designated as the special planning authority for encroachments.
