Breaking: Israel to Face Genocide Charges at World Court as Airstrikes Kill 20 in Gaza

Supreme Today News Desk

As Israel's military campaign in Gaza continues to cause devastation, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will hold hearings on Thursday and Friday to consider South Africa's request for emergency measures to halt Israel's actions. South Africa alleges that Israel's war against Hamas violates the 1948 Genocide Convention, a claim strongly denied by Israel. In a video address, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly stated that Israel has no intention of permanently occupying Gaza or displacing civilians. He emphasized that Israel's actions are focused on combating Hamas terrorists and that the military takes measures to minimize civilian casualties, while Hamas intentionally targets civilians.Meanwhile, the conflict in Gaza has resulted in the tragic death of 20 people in a central Gaza city, Deir al-Balah, as a heavy Israeli airstrike toppled a two-story building near the area's main hospital. Additionally, Pramila Patten, the UN special representative on sexual violence in conflict, is heading to Israel to investigate sexual assault allegations against Hamas. The United Nations Security Council has also passed a resolution demanding that the Houthi movement in Yemen cease its attacks on shipping. The legal battle at the ICJ is expected to be lengthy and could lead to increased political pressure on Israel if it is found to be in violation of international law.
