The Division Bench of Chief justice T S Sivagnanam and Hiranmoy Bhattacharya of Calcutta High Court in an observation said that the court was mulling to issue summons to Sheikh Shahjahan in the court for surrender, since the police was still unable to arrest him even after 19 days.
The Chief Justice observed that the court was thinking of issuing summons to Sheikh Shahjhan for appearance in court.
On that day, the state police, CBI, ED too would be asked to be present in court.
The Chief Justice wondered how the police have still failed to arrest the prime accused even after 19 days.
The Division Bench also cancelled the state government’s plea of staying the Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari’s visit to Sandeshkhali today.
