Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar, accompanied by senior officials of the Election Commission of India, on Friday, 23 February, commenced his two-day review of preparedness for the Lok Sabha elections.
The CEC would meet the Chief Electoral Officers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala besides the officials from the enforcement agencies before wrapping up his meeting with the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary and state DGP.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, on Friday, 23 February, said that the party’s Lok Sabha campaign theme should be simple and easy to understand, conveying to the people that the DMK regime protected all the people and that this should be articulated through the achievements of the government.
The Madras High Court on Friday disposed of a writ petition filed by Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) after recording the submission of Election Commission of India that it shall consider, in accordance with law, the request for allotment of bicycle symbol to the party candidates in the general election this year.
In all likelihood, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is expected to announce the schedule for the upcoming parliamentary elections on March 13-14.
Speaking at a media conference in Mulugu after offering prayers at the Sammakka Saralamma (Medaram) Jathara here on Friday, the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy described the pact between BRS and BJP for Lok Sabha election seats sharing as an 'unholy nexus'.
