1998(7) Supreme 146
Supreme Court of India
(From Calcutta High Court)
G.T. Nanavati & S. Rajendra Babu, JJ.
State of West Bengal & Ors. -Appellants
versus
Ajoy Kumar Banerjee -Respondent
Civil Appeal No. 12796 of 1996
Decided on 27-8-1998
Counsel for the Parties :
For the Appellants : Tapas Ray, Sr. Advocate, Rajesh Srivastava & H.K. Puri, Advocates.
For the Respondent : A.K. Ganguli, Sr. Advocate and Ranjan Mukherjee, Advocate.
Judgment
The learned counsel for the State of West Bengal wanted to raise some important questions of law in this appeal: but, in view of the fact that there is only one post of Protocol Officer in the High Court and the additional financial burden likely to fall upon the State Government will be insignificant, we do not think it proper to decide those questions in this appeal. We, therefore, dismiss this appeal.
(N.K.R.) Appeal dismissed.
