Mr. Ram Lal Gupta, Member—Challenging the order dated 18.9.1996 passed by the District Forum, Hoshiarpur, the appellant be fore us is the Opposite Party Life Insurance Corporation, vide which the complaint filed by Smr. Paramjit Kaur Gill, widow of insured late Sh. Sukhbir Singh Gill, awarding the insured amount of Rs. 1 lac with interest @ 18% per annum from the date when the claim was presented was allowed.

2. The facts are brief. The appellant Life Insurance Corporation issued a Life Insurance Policy No. 130875045 for a sum insured of Rs. 1 lac on the life of Sh. Sukhbir Singh Gill, Advocate with the date of commencement as 28.1.1993. Said policy was issued on the basis of Proposal and Personal Statement submitted by late Sh. Sukhbir Singh Gill. Said Sh. Sukhbir Singh Gill died in the P.G.I., Chandigarh on 15.5.1993 due to post operating infection. Said Sh. Sukhbir Singh Gill was operated in the P.G.I., for stone in the gall bladder.
