ORDER

Mr. Justice A.L. Bahri, President—Kamla Devi, the complainant claims ehnancement of compensation in this appeal filed against order of District Forum, Mansa dated November 22, 1996, who awarded Rs. 5,000/- compensation and costs consolidated to the complainant against Punjab State Electricity Board. Since no appeal has been filed by the Electricity Board, the finding recorded by the District Forum regarding deficiency in rendering service or negligent act resulting in causing harassment to the complainant has to be accepted as such. Since the only question involved in this appeal is about the quantum of compensation, the pleadings of the parties are summarised.

2. Kamla Devi was having a domestic electric connection vide A/c. No. WR 35/0239. Her husband. Sham Lal was having another electric connection separate from the house for commercial purposes for which there were arrears to the tune of Rs. 68,212/-. Kamla Devi, complainant was served with bill dated May 29, 1995 for a sum of Rs. 199/- charges for use of electricity for domestic purpose and in addition thereto, a sum of Rs. 68,212/- due from her husband.
