1. The petitioner being aggrieved of the order of the State Commission dated 20.01.2017 reversing the order of the District Forum Tarantaran and dismissing the complaint has filed this revision petition.
2. Briefly stated facts relevant for the disposal of the revision petition are that Surjeet Kaur, wife of the petitioner obtained life insurance policy with insured value of Rs.1.00 lakh from the opposite party-insurance company. The insurance policy was valid w.e.f. 22.04.2012 onwards and its premium was paid regularly. Surjeet Kaur died on 11.01.2014. The complainant being the legal heir as also the beneficiary under the policy submitted insurance claim with the respondent / insurance company. The insurance claim, however, was repudiated vide letter dated 21.10.2014 on the ground that Surjeet Kaur had obtained insurance policy voluntarily by concealing the correct information regarding her state of health at the time of purchasing the policy.
