1. The extra ordinary jurisdiction of this Court conferred by Article 226 of the Constitution of India is being sought to be invoked by the petitioners who have joined together in filing the present writ petition. The challenge involves a recruitment process initiated vide an advertisement dated 29.12.2018 issued by the Assam Public Service Commission for inter alia, 115 Nos. of post of Agricultural Development Officer in the Department of Agriculture, Government of Assam. The petitioners allege that the essential criterion of Experience has been omitted in the advertisement causing immense prejudice to them and the same is not permissible in law.
2. Before going to the issue for adjudication, it would be convenient to state the facts of the case in brief.
3. 20 Nos. of petitioners have joined together in the present writ petition wherein the challenge, as indicated above is with regard to a recruitment process initiated by the Agriculture Department for filling up the post of Agricultural Development Officer.
