Judgment :-

These writ appeals have been filed against the common order of the learned single Judge dated 24.04.2012 passed in W.P.Nos.2305 and 2917 of 2012.

2. The writ petitions were filed challenging the impugned order passed by the District Collector, Tiruppur vide Na.Ka.No.14238/2010/J1 dated 18.07.2011.

3. The case of the writ petitioners was that they are agriculturists residing in Sundakampalayam and Nambiyamplayam Villages of Avinashi Taluk, Tiruppur District, owning agricultural lands in around their villages. Initially, the Executive Engineer, Transmission Line Construction, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) got approval from the State Government to install towers for transmitting High Voltage Electricity through their lands situated in S.F. Nos.275/1,2, 274/2, 268/1A, 263/2, 212/3, 211/1A, 1B, 207/1D, 206/1A1, 1B2, 204/1, 204/6, 267/7, 170/1, 98/2, 84/1, 2, 83/1, 78/4, 5, 6, 7, 176/1B, 178/1, 179/2, 3, 180/1, 3 and 410/1 & 2 at Nambiyampalayam Village, Avinashi Taluk. But, suddenly in the month of June, 2010 the officials of the Board started surveying the lands of the writ petitioners for altering the electricity line route, to which the writ petitioners objected.
