JUDGMENT

S. Manikumar, J.

Contending inter alia that rates of the food items (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) in hotels, restaurants etc are different and therefore, Government should come forward with a regulation to fix a common rates for the food items (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) in grade hotels such as Grade 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 star hotels, restaurants, etc., representation seemed to have been made on 27.09.2017 to the Secretary to Government, Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Protection and Price Control, the 1st respondent. Petitioner has also sent an application dated 20.11.2017, under right to information Act, 2005 to the said authority. Reply dated 24.11.2017 has been given from the office of the Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department, Chennai that his representation has been forwarded to 2nd respondent. Contending further that said representation has not been answered, instant writ petition has been filed for a mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 27.09.2017, to pass orders and to file compliance report before this Court.
