This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to grant permission to conduct Vinayagar Sadhurthi festival at Shenbaga Vinayagar Temple situated at LRS Palayam, Tenkasi District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 21.08.2023.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is one of the conveners of Vinayagar Sadhurthi Festival Committee of Shenbaga Vinayagar Temple, which is more than 100 years old. Every year, Vinayagar Sadhurthi Festival will be celebrated in a grand manner by installing clay statue of Vinayagar and thereafter, the said statue will be taken through procession for immersion in Chitharu River.
