ORAL ORDER
The petitioner is before this Court seeking a direction by issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to renew the petitioner’s passport for a period of 2 years and pass an order directing respondent No.1 to consider the application with acknowledgment of the petitioner seeking for renewal of the passport.
2. Heard the learned counsel Sri.Anand N.S., appearing the petitioner, the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, Sri.Shanthi Bhushan H., appearing for respondent No.1 and the learned Additional Government Advocate Sri.Mohammed Jaffar Shah, appearing for respondent No.2.
3. Identical issue is answered by this Court in the case of Santhosh Beejadi Srinivasa vs. Union of India, Ministry of External Affairs , [W.P.No.19203/2021 D.D.04.12.2024], reads as follows:
