JUDGMENT

Dated this the 18th day of October, 2022 This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief:

“i. Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to declare Exhibit P2 to be bad in the eye of law and permit the petitioner to work as Technical Assistant in the respondent Panchayat until her services are legally terminated.”

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Panchayat.

3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner was appointed as Technical Assistant in the respondent Panchayat on 25.10.2017 on contract basis and is continuing since then. It is submitted that by Exhibit P2 resolution dated 30.03.2022, the Panchayat had decided to terminate the service of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Government had, by Exhibits P5 and P6 orders directed the continuance of Technical Assistants appointed in Local Self Government Institutions till a decision is taken by the Government with regard to their continuance in service.
