THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE N.TUKARAMJI CONTEMPT CASE No. 2812 OF 2025

ORDER:

This Contempt Case has been filed seeking to punish the respondents/contemnors for their alleged deliberate and willful disobedience of the order dated 20.06.2023 passed by this Court in W.P.

No.39676 of 2022.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that despite the clear direction issued by this Court in its common order dated 20.06.2023, directing the respondents/police authorities to complete the investigation in the pending cases at the earliest, the respondents failed to comply with the said order. It is submitted that such inaction on the part of the respondents amounts to deliberate, willful, and contumacious disobedience of the order of this Court. Accordingly, learned counsel prays that appropriate action be initiated against the respondents under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 (“the Act”).

3. Learned Assistant Government Pleader, on the other hand, submits that the allegation of willful disobedience is factually incorrect.
