[1] Initially, there were 17 accused persons charged in the Sessions Court. The learned Hakim Mahkamah Sesyen ("HMS') had initially acquitted and discharged all 17 accused persons at the close of the prosecution case without calling for their defences. However, an appeal by the Public Prosecutor against their acquittals and discharge was allowed by the High Court and they were ordered to enter upon their defences. By this time one of the accused persons had passed away whilst another had his charge withdrawn by the Public Prosecutor. Out of the remaining 15 accused persons, two were found guilty and sentenced to a fine of RM3000-00 in default to 1 month's imprisonment in respect of each charge. One of these two accused
