Introduction

[1] This is the plaintiffs' claim ('this claim') for damages against the defendant for the defamatory statements that the latter allegedly had posted on his Facebook and LiveJournal blog accounts.

Background Facts

[2] The 1st plaintiff is a company duly incorporated in Malaysia. The 2nd plaintiff is one of the 1st plaintiff's directors and is in charge of the financial and commercial department of the company. Meanwhile, the 3rd plaintiff is the managing director and founder of the 1st plaintiff.

[3] The plaintiffs alleged that several social media postings were written and published by the defendant in 2017 in the following sites: (1) a personal Facebook account 'Luqmanul Hakim Abdul Rahim (https://www.facebook.com/Lord. LuQienstein), (2) on the 'Ponzi Scheme Alert in Malaysia' Facebook public group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/PonziSchemeMalaysia) and (3) a LiveJournal blog 'AntiPonzi.LiveJournal' (https://AntiPonzi.LiveJournal. com/1165.html).
