[1] The plaintiffs claim against the defendant is for damages and for an injunction restraining the defendant whether by itself, its directors, servants or otherwise howsoever from further printing, publishing or causing to be printed and published the said or similar words or matter defamatory of the plaintiff with interest and costs. The defendant is and has been at all material times the printer of the Asian Wall Street Journal (AWSJ). The said defamatory words of the plaintiff were published in the AWSJs issue of 4 January 1999. The writ and statement of claim were served on the defendant on 4 February 1999 and the defence filed on 1 March 1999. There was also a reply filed on 15 March 1999.
