Introduction

[1] These are appeals against a contempt of court order made by the High court.

[2] All the parties involved here are individuals, and it is convenient to address them by their names here as follows:

(i) Goh Choon Kim ("GCK");

(ii) Ong Ah Poh ("OAP");

(iii) Goh Choon Seang ("GCS");

(iv) Goh Kim Heong ("GKH");

(v) Goh Kooi Cheng ("GKC")

(vi) Chan Eng Leong ("CEL") and

(vii) Chong Bee Choo ("CBC").

[3] We heard the appeals (Appeal 490 and Appeal 642) together on 2 September 2024 and thereafter adjourned our decision to deliberate on the submissions advanced by the parties.

[4] After having so deliberated, we furnish hereinbelow our decision together with the supporting reasons.

[5] GCK, OAP and GCS are majority members of Global Tobacco Manufacturers (International) Sdn Bhd ("GTM"), who collectively among themselves hold 55% of the share capital of GTM.
