PREAMBLE

An Act to amend the Kerala State Commission for Minorities Act, 2014.

Whereas, it is expedient to amend the Kerala State Commission for Minorities Act, 2014 for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

Be it enacted in the Sixty Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:--

S.1 Short title and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Kerala State Commission for Minorities (Amendment) Act, 2017.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 3rd day of February, 2017.

S.2 Amendment of section 3

In clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Kerala State Commission for Minorities Act. 2014 (5 of 2014), for the word "another", the letter "a" shall be substituted.

S.3 Repeal and saving

(1) The Kerala State Commission for Minorities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017 (1 of 2017) is hereby repealed.

(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act.
