(Updated as per the book The Essential Commodities Act along with State Orders published in 2020) (As amended by SRO No.451/2001, w.e.f.25/04/2001, SRO No.1256/2004, w.e.f.27/11/2004, SRO No.1066/2010 dt.19/11/2010, SRO No.120/2011 dt.10/02/2011) Whereas the Government of Kerala are of opinion that it is necessary and expedient so to do for maintaining the supplies of 1 [certain essential commodities] and for securing their equitable distribution and availability at fair prices; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (Central Act 10 of 1955) read with the Order of the Government of India in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Community Development and Co-operation (Department of Food) No. GSR. 906 dated 9th June, 1966 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part II Section 3, sub-section (i) dated the 9th June 1966, the Government of Kerala hereby make the following Order, namely:--
