MEGHALAYA ELECTRICITY DUTY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1980

An Act further to amend the Meghalaya Electricity Duty act (Assam Act No. XXX of 1964 as adapted and modified by Meghalaya) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act). Be it enacted by the Legislature of Meghalaya in the Thirty-first year of the Republic of India as follows:-

S.1 Short title, extent and commencement

• (1) This Act may be called the Meghalaya Electricity Duty (Amendment) Act, 1980.
• (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
• (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1980.

S.2 Amendment Section 3 the principal Act

In sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the principal for the words "three paise" the words "four paise" shall be substituted.
