An Act to further amend the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council Chairman's and Executive Members' (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 1984 as amended from time to time hereinafter called the principal Act.

S.1 Short title and commencement

• This Act shall be called The Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council Chairman's and Executive Members' (Salaries and Allowances) (Sixth Amendment) Act, 2018.
• It shall come into force with effect from the First Day of July, 2018.

S.2 Definition

All words and expressions used in this Act shall have the same meaning as assigned to them in the Principal Act.

S.3 Amendment of Sections 3,4,5,6 and 7 of the Principal Act

• Salary of the Chairman:- Substitute the figures and words "Rs. 29,300.00 (Rupees Twenty Nine Thousand Three Hundred)" occurring therein by the figures and words "Rs. 53,000.00 (Rupees Fifty Three Thousand)".
• Salary of the Deputy Chairman:- Substitute the figures and words "Rs. 28,800.00 (Rupees Twenty Eight Thousand Eight Hundred)" occurring therein by the figures and words "Rs. 50,000.00 (Rupees Fifty Thousand)".
• Salary of the Chief Executive Member:- Substitute the figures and words "Rs. 29,700.00 (Rupees Twenty Nine Thousand Seven Hundred)" occurring therein by the figures and words "Rs. 55,000.00 (Rupees Fifty Five Thousand)".
• Salary of the Deputy Chief Executive Member:- Substitute the figures and words "Rs. 29,300.00 (Rupees Twenty Nine Thousand Three Hundred)" occurring therein by the figures and words "Rs. 53,000.00 (Rupees Fifty Three Thousand)".
• Salary of the Executive Member:- Substitute the figures and words "Rs. 28,800.00 (Rupe
  

S.3A Amendment of Section 8 of the Principal Act

House Rent Allowance:- Delete the word "in lieu of residence" occurring therein and substitute the figures and words "Rs. 9,900.00 (Rupees Nine Thousand Nine Hundred)" occurring therein by the figures and words "Rs. 15,000.00 (Rupees Fifteen Thousand)".

S.4 Amendment of Section 10 of the Principal Act

Provision for Petrol, oil and lubricants:- Substitute the words "determined by the Executive Committee from time to time and the cost of which shall be drawn with the salary" occurring in the last two lines of Section 10 by the followings:-

"fixed under the rules subject to the following limits:-

• Rs. 24,000.000 (Rupees Twenty Four Thousand per month for the Chief Executive Member,
• Rs. 23,000.000 (Rupees Twenty Three Thousand per month for the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Deputy Chief Executive Member, and Executive Members".

S.5 Amendment of Section 11 of the Principal Act

Medical Allowance and other Allowances:-

Substitute the existing Section 11 by the following:-

The Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Chief Executive Member, Deputy Chief Executive Member and Executive Members shall be paid with the following Allowances:-

• Medical Allowance:- Rs. 5,000.00 (Rupees Five Thousand) per month.
• Telephone and Newspaper Allowance:- Rs. 1,500.00 (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Per Month.
• Menials and Driver Allowances:- Rs. 60,000.00 (Rupees Sixty Thousand) Per month.
