UDAIPUR UNIVERSITY (CHANGE OF NAME) ACT, 1982

An Act to change the name of the University of Udaipur and to make certain amendments in the Udaipur University Act, 1962. Be it enacted by the Rajasthan State Legislature in the Thirty-third Year of the Republic of India, as follows:--

S.1 Short title and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Udaipur University (Change of Name) Act, 1982.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 28th day of July, 1982.

S.2 Change of name of the University of Udaipur

(1) The name of the University of Udaipur incorporated under the Udaipur University Act, 1962 (Rajasthan Act 18 of 1962), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, shall, as from the date of commencement of this Act, be "Mohan Lal Sukhadia University".

(2) Any reference to the University of Udaipur in any law for the time being in force or in any indenture, instrument or other documents shall be read and construed as a reference to that University under its name as altered by this Act.

(3) Nothing in this Act shall affect the continuity of the corporate status of the said University.

S.3 Amendments

(1) As from the date of commencement of this Act, the principal Act shall stand amended to the extent and in the manner specified in the Schedule.

(2) The provisions of sub-section (1) shall be without prejudice to this generality of the provisions of section 2.

S.4 Citation of the principal Act

The principal Act may be cited as Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Act, 1962.

S.5 Repeal

The Udaipur University (Change of Name) Ordinance, 1982 (Ordinance No. 5 of 1982) is hereby repealed.
